I’ve had a Panasonic 40 inch plasma for over a year now. I’ve compared it with many other plasma TVs that cost hundreds of dollars more. I would have to say that the Panasonic line in general outshines all of the other plasma TVs in its category and the TH50PX60U is no different.

The Panasonic TH-50PX60U is a solid plasma TV, now in its 9th edition. It offers a picture that is outstanding compared to practically all of the other plasma TVs in its class. In addition, the price / performance ratio is also very tough to beat. Many of the manufacturers, including Samsung and Sony are trying to compete with Panasonic’s price value, yet still have a ways to go.

One final note about plasma versus LCD … there is a common mis-perception that plasmas do not last as long as LCDs. However, with the advancement of plasma technology, they will last equally as long as LCDs even running 4 – 6 hours a day.
